Breaking out of the deadlocked, monotonous, local music scene, Enbloc is entering through the open doors on the horizon and taking the industry by storm. Based out of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, Enbloc blends melodic harmonies with inspirational lyrics to form their own brand of music. The collaboration of all Enbloc’s musicians generate a certain composition of music that has an unmatched, distinguished sound shaped by the many different influences each member possesses. Unity is what the band name represents, and the four original band members have illustrated that since their friendship began 13 years ago.

Brandon Scherzberg (guitar/lead vocals), 19, and Doug Harwick (lead guitar/vocals), 23, formed the band in 2002. Without plans or direction they played music in their spare time; however, this quickly changed as the duo began to evolve and shape their own style. Brandon Kelly (drums), 22, entered into the band in early 2003, lighting up the percussion section of the band. Scott Rabold (bass guitar), 21, entered into the band showing his talent in 2004, through his distinguishable bass lines. All four band members grew up together showing that they were Enbloc well before they even picked up instruments. Members possess a unique personality that separates them from any other band. Growing up, they didn’t want to be caught up in that same old cliché of drugs and partying. They not only used music as an alternative, but also escaped through other conduits such as Motocross, BMX biking, surfing, nakedness, and being just about as eccentric as possible. These experiences as well as others, including participating in, and hosting charity events helped to form Enbloc as individuals. Some charity events include Stuff-A-Bus for a clear channel radio station in Philadelphia PA (Q102) and multiple events for The Pennsylvania State University including THON, a 24 hour dance marathon benefiting kids with pediatric cancer, and Rock for a Reason. Members of Enbloc have also been featured in a spring break segment for MTVU in 2005.

In early 2007 the band’s sound had evolved; however, there still seemed to be a missing piece. James Buniak, 19, (violin) was the answer to this unsolved puzzle. His shimmering leads on the violin filled out each track to develop the sound you hear today.

Enbloc is not only proud of their musical accomplishments, but also their education choices and achievements. Doug recently graduated from Penn State with a degree in Geomatic Engineering. Brandon Scherzberg is currently enrolled at The Pennsylvania State University pursuing a degree in marketing and management. Scott is at The Pennsylvania State University studying Architectural Engineering. Brandon Kelly plans to graduate this semester from Wilkes University with an Environmental Engineering degree. James is studying at Northampton Community College pursuing radio television. Karl Scherzberg, Enbloc’s manager and sound technician has worked with Enbloc from the beginning, and has played an essential role in molding Enbloc. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University as a Civil Engineer.
